Overview

True soldiers tend to be short-spoken. This is the reason why the book is a small one. Soldiers of the battlefield opened their heart in the book. Many of them have fallen by now. All Afghanistan vets, be they American, English, or Soviet, understand each other without words. Soviet troops of the 1980s may not have had HD digital cameras mounted on their helmets to record the war in Afghanistan, but they can still tell a lot of stories from their days in that hostile territory. This book collects over thirty Afghanistan stories told by Soviet veterans of the 1980s war. In this book, Soviet officers, soldiers, intelligence personnel and GRU agents share - their war stories from Afghanistan (all of them previously unpublished); - their opinions on the ISAF activities in Afghanistan; - their predictions for Afghanistan's future after 2014. You will find no words from any experts, editors, or civilians in this book. All stories are told by soldiers and officers-who lost many friends in the mountains of Afghanistan, who have an intimate knowledge, understanding, and feel for this proud country. This is a new, extended edition (2016) of the book with photos added. Here some extracts from the book: China will march its 200 million army against us and occupy the Siberia up to the Ural Mountains. The Japanese will control the Far East. They will start to tear Russia to apart. A horrible war will break out. Russia will remain within the borders established by Ivan the Terrible. Prophecy of the elder schemamonk John struggling at St. Nicholas the Wonderworker Church in Nikolskoye village, Yaroslavl Oblast, Uglichsky District (Yaroslavl Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church) When the East becomes powerful enough, everything will become unstable. Not only they are numerous - they are sober and hard-working people, while we drink heavily... One day, they will begin to tear Russia apart. First, they will divide it, and then plunder. The West will encourage them to ruin Russia and entrust East Russia to China. The Japanese will enjoy control over the Far East, while the Siberia will be dominated by the Chinese, who will gradually migrate to Russia, marry Russian women, and eventually occupy the Siberia up to the Ural Mountains due to their artfulness and guile. Hieroschemamonk Seraphim Vyritskiy The Chinese will nip resistance in the bud with cruelty. The West will contribute to the creeping of our land and do its best to support China's military and economic power over Russia. God will not prevent us from losing the vast land granted to Russia; for we have been unable to use it decently, and have been fouling it up... SCHEARCHIMANDRITE SERAPHIM (TYAPOCHKIN) FROM RAKITNOYE, 1977
