War & Love Letters is a book that gives an insight into the life of the author and those surrounding him for the duration of the war. It shows the history of events from the presective of an individual who experienced it. It shows how the young men of that era adjusted to the duties that they were called upon to perform. Without knowing what was happening to them the gentle youths of America were transformed by there training into tough minded warriors. The importance of the written word becomes most obvious. This is especially so of Letter of Love from family, sweethearts or wife's. The author has shared quotations from letters written from Korea that would have been to private to publish years ago. Beside revealing enter feelings, the letters recall details of combat that would have been censored in World War II. There are many battles described as they occurred. The author participanted in live combat with the American Marines, the Koren Marines, the ROK army and the United States Navy. It is hoped that the increased awareness of the details of war by the American public will help find a cure for this dreadful disease called war.
