Author Information

A veteran of the Vietnam War, John J. Candelaria served as Executive Officer of the 45th Surgical Hospital from December 1969 to August 1970, when the hospital closed. He finished his Vietnam tour at the 11th Convalescent Center, Cam Ranh Bay in December 1970. John knows well the anguish and pain experienced by soldiers wounded and killed in the line of duty. His tribute poems to the 45th Surgical Hospital are expressions that embrace in words the courage, duty, and valor of those who served with distinction at the 45th MASH.
