Every great religious order runs into difficulties, and God provides a saint to redress them. She was also active during the close of the Hundred Years' War between France and England and was a contemporary of St. Joan of Arc. But her most enduring legacy is her reform of the Second Order of St. Francis, the Poor Clares.
