They monitor nuclear armament, save animals threatened by extinction, and bring aid to people battered by war and made homeless by natural disaster. They try to break the vicious circle of poverty and exploitation. They protect the vulnerable and demand accountability from the powerful. The United Nations and all its branches are vigilant on many fronts: poverty and development, peace making and peacekeeping, environment and health. Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch make sure that the whole world knows when people are mistreated by those in authority. Doctors Without Borders brings healthcare to people in countries where medical expertise is sadly lacking. While every organization portrayed here strives to make life better and more sustainable in a different way, they are all living proof that goodness, responsibility, and honor exist in our world.
