OverviewA literary/philosophical investigation of the pragmatic existentialism in Wittgenstein's Tractatus and Philosophical Investigation. The historical contexts in which these texts were written will be given by locating them in Wittgenstein's life and the intellectual worlds in which he did his thinking. A literary analysis of the impact of the form of the texts on their content will show the unity of his existential concerns in both texts. Philosophical defenses and critiques of his claims and arguments will be located in the context of interpretations of these texts by other philosophers.
