Jédon earned a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing with honors and an Associate's in Business Management. She has worked in the financial and marketing industries. She moved to Atlanta to follow her dreams of working in the entertainment industry. There she found her purpose. To create art which delivers positive and motivating messages to the masses.Working various jobs in multiple industries, Jédon did not always have the courage to walk in her purpose of being an award winning television and film producer. Her struggles with those corporate positions were directly related to not pursuing what she was born to do. She asked herself, ""What's the worst that can happen""? Jédon started her journey with a detour in Los Angeles. Due to poor planning she did not break into the industry, and left ""Tinsel Town"" after two years. She remained motivated and believed in her destiny. She committed herself to the vision and developed a clear plan before relocating to Atlanta, one of the country's top filming locations.Jedon took several production assistant boot camps and courses in preparation for #setlife. Once settled in Atlanta, she began to plant roots in the entertainment business working on projects with Tyler Perry Studios, BET, The OWN Network, TV One, Bounce TV, and numerous independent projects. She has filled many roles on set and in basecamp from Key Set PA, to working directly with cast as Cast Assistant, to a Producer's Assistant. She even utilized her talents as Script Supervisor and Production Manager.Jedon is a natural leader, the Co-Founder of First Team Production LLLP, and Co-Founder of the non-profit Sister's Creating Content (SCC), an organization developed to aid minority women in the television and film industry. The ultimate goal is to give back to her community in a culturally respective manner through love, spirituality, intelligence, and class. Monique Shaw was born in Harlem, New York and raised in Brooklyn until the age of ten years old. Her family then moved to the South. Columbia, South Carolina. The oldest of five children, she found solace watching television. Her passion for the art of Directing emerged while watching Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark. Her young mind was intrigued by the camera angles, production design, and the actor's performance. She was determined to learn everything there is to know about the art of Filmmaking.Monique attended the University of South Carolina where she made the Dean's List and received a Bachelor's degree in Media Arts. After graduation she was hired as a Marketing Consultant with Verizon Wireless in Alpharetta, GA. Corporate media opened her eyes to the various creative outlets of Storytelling, but was not enough to satisfy her appetite for creativity. She began collaborating with other creatives in the role of Assistant Director. These projects include a lecture series developed into a documentary. In addition to, a powerful PSA which gave insight into commercial exploitation of children and organizations committed to rescuing girls from this path.Monique soon realized the possibilities of Producing beyond corporate videos and stepped out on faith. Quitting a stable, well-paid Marketing gig to begin a career in Film as a production assistant. Out of work consistently for two years, it was a now or never!In 2015, Monique connected with an industry professional from Los Angeles who took a chance on her. Landing her first opportunity to work on a feature film, The Hunger Games- Mocking Jay Part 2, Monique knew it was her true calling to be on set! She went on to build a foundation working on projects with Netflix, HBO, Lionsgate, 20th Century Fox, and Paramount Pictures. Monique is a mother of two beautiful daughters, a Military wife, Author, and businesswoman. Co-Founder of First Team Productions LLLP and owner of I.M.
