Walk A Mile in my Paws and SWITCH is a book that addresses a controversial issue transgenderism. This is a non-threatening approach that gently leads the reader to the idea of not making a life altering decision before they're old enough to understand the consequences. It's a compelling story of a FuFu, princess, Maltese, dog, named Daisy, and a tough, feral hunting cat named panther. These two whimsical characters are jealous of each other, each believing that the other has a better life. Daisy sees panther as footloose and fancy free, able to roam the streets and be independent, while she is encumbered by a leash and has no control over her life. Panther on the other hand is tired of hunting rats and longs to be pampered and spoiled. He desires a closer relationship with the family and wants to go on vacation to Mexico with them. A magical transformation catapults them on an exciting journey. Both these zany characters face unexpected dangers and life threatening altercations. Woven between the story lines, are humorous and heart wrenching episodes. Love, death, bullying and jealousy are the teachers that tell the story, and hopefully leads the reader towards self acceptance and self love. And A non-judgmental attitude towards others that are different than themselves.
