This treasure trove will keep youngsters busy for hours as they have fun informally learning about Wales whilst completing puzzles and drawing activities and so on. All the traditional favourites are here, from colouring-in and spot-the-difference to join-the dots, word search and escape the maze. But this is not a superficial collection; its main aim may be to entertain and amuse but it is also sure to gain the approval of parents and teachers keen for children to enhance literacy, maths and cross curricular skills, whilst practising their reading skills for pleasure. In a clear, attractive and easy-to-use format, author and designer Tanwen Haf has provided a range of contexts and topics which reflect Welsh culture – from the familiar icons of daffodils, costumes and castles to landmarks, people, occupations, music, poetry and recipes etc. – and has produced a rich resource to be dipped into over time. Although it needs no support, it fits in beautifully with the excellent core Wales on the Map atlas and the companion Wales on the Map Quiz Book and may have linked on-line teaching resources in future. The graphics are delightful and a free Wales poster is included. -- Lorna Herbert-Egan @ www.gwales.com Author InformationTab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
