Walden Theatre was founded in 1975 on the grounds of the Walden School, by Nancy Niles Sexton. In 1999 the theatre moved from its location at the St. Francis School into its own building located on Payne St. The company regularly presents both modern and classics of American and British theatre at The Kentucky Center's MEX Theatre, Cultural Center at the Frazier International History Museum and Actors Theatre of Louisville.
