Vougar Aslanov ( * 1964 in Goranboy, Azerbaijani SSR) is a writer and journalist from Azerbaijan.He studied from 1982 to 1983 and from 1985 to 1990 at the Faculty of Azerbaijani, Russian, European and American literature at the Baku State University. From 1983 to 1985 he was a soldier in the Soviet army. After graduating, he worked in a laboratory on rock samples. From 1990 he worked for newspapers such as Tereggi-Tetis, Addym, Wyschka, Jol in Baku. 1995, he started the literary newspaper Kompas , 1996 the Information Agency Samt .In 1997 he published his first book The Milkman in Baku, which was heavily censored by the state because of the information about the past of President Heidar Aliyev in Soviet times in the narrative On The Cotton Fields and the criticism of the current Azerbaijani reality (how the country is governed in a monarchistic way) in the screenplay for a short movie, American spy in Azerbaijan .
