La Dra. Rubi Ugofsky-Mendez curso su licenciatura en espanol en la Universidad de Texas Pan American. Posteriormente concluyo su maestria y doctorado en literatura Peninsular en la Universidad de Nebraska-Lincoln. Su area de especializacion se centra en la poesia espanola barroca. Por mas de una decada, la Dra. Ugofsky-Mendez ha presentado ponencias relacionadas con su rama de investigacion en numerosas prestigiosas conferencias academicas como MACHL y KFLC. Actualmente, la Dra. Ugofsky-Mendez forma parte del profesorado de la Universidad de Mary Hardin-Baylor en Belton, Texas en donde imparte catedras relacionadas a la civilizacion y la literatura espanola e hispanoamericana.
