Overview

This book is about using Visual Studio - from 2017 to 2022 - to create a program that uses SQL Client to connect to SQL Server. It then displays tables and view from the selected database, allows for very complex queries - Inner joins and so forth - that can then be run and the results displayed in a DataGridView. Once the information is displayed in the DataGridView, the code shows you how to create RDL and RDLC Reports with or without grid-lines. You can also click on a table or a view and do the same with those tables and you can select fields to create a simple but robust custom query. And you can create RDL and RDLC Reports from the custom query. Additional functionality has been added to this program through its stored procedure form which allows you to Create, Alter and Dropp Stored Procedures. When a Stored Procedure gets executed, it once again populated the DataGridView and that enables the context menu so you can create RDL and RDLC Reports with or without grid-lines and view them immediately.
