Overview

This book contains many of the author's artistic image produced throughout the years. The visionary imagery was stimulated by his earlier Jungian studies dealing with dreams, active imagination meditations, and later by visionary plant medicines, all of which took him into the extraordinary depths of my psyche to experience archetypal symbolism as part of his individuation process and healing. A personal commentary follows each art piece; however, the author/artist invites the viewer to find meaning in the images that reflects their own psyche. The book reflects his personal struggles with the forces of darkness and light, woundedness and radiance, despair and hope, as well as his transpersonal connection to the natural world.

Alexander Shester, M.D., is a psychiatrist and Jungian Analyst with over thirty years of participating in guided Vision Quests using entheogens and shamanic principles. He is now retired and manifesting his creativity and experiences as a visionary artist, author, and musician with an interest in Americana and folk music, singing and playing his guitar, banjo, and harmonica.
