EDGAR A. GAMBOA, M.D., FACS, is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and serves as trauma director at Pioneers Memorial and chief of surgery at El Centro Regional Medical Center in Southern California. Married for over thirty years to Doctor Lucie Noel Gamboa, a pediatrician, they have three sons and a daughter. He is a Benedictine oblate of Immaculate Heart of Mary (New Camaldoli) Hermitage in Big Sur and a member of the Lay Brothers of Mother Teresa.
