Overview

This volume reviews the current state of technology in the use of viral vectors for the transfer and expression of foreign genes in mammalian and insect cells. The six different viral families discussed are the adenovirus vectors, baculovirus vectors, retrovirus vectors, vaccinia virus vectors, Epstein-Barr virus plasmid vectors and Adeno-associated virus vectors (AAV). Each chapter contains a brief survey of the biology of the virus family, but focuses on primarily on strategies foor using the virus as a vector.
