Maria published several books regarding the cycle of metamorphosis namely in 1679, 1683 and 1705, she was renowned for her intricate butterfly drawings and contributions to entomology. Throughout this curated portfolio are beautiful flora and fauna drawings from her book Metamorphosis insectorum Surinamensium.
