OverviewVilla Vittoria in Florence was built at the end of the 19th century at the behest of the Strozzi family. Enlarged during the 1920s, it was then purchased by Count Alessandro Contini Bonacossi, who named the residence after his wife Vittoria. For the creation and arrangement of the furnishings, two of the most important architects and designers of the last century were chosen, Gio Ponti and Tomaso Buzzi: the complex, today an important exhibition and congress center, still bears the signs of their precious intervention. This volume tells the story of the Villa, offering an accurate overview of the interiors and architectural solutions. Particular emphasis is given to Vittoria Bonaccossi, whose diaries bear witness to a life dedicated to collecting and, more generally, to the search for beauty.
