Overview

From its ancient temples to its present-day skyscrapers, Japan offers an exotic blend of breathtaking scenery, contemporary cityscapes, and old-world charm. The beginning of spring is a magical time of awakening, highlighted by the highly anticipated blooming of the famous cherry blossoms. Views from the Far East is a first-hand account of this special time, told from a photographer's point of view. Accompanied by brilliant photographs of Japan's nature and architecture, the uniqueness of each location, beginning in historic Tokyo and ending in captivating Kyoto, with stops at such landmarks as Mt. Fuji and the Golden Pavilion, is told through the eyes of a first-time traveler to this exotic land.

Author Information

Marta Dominika's love of travel began at an early age, when, growing up in Poland, she and her family took numerous road trips around Europe. By the age of ten she had visited Germany, Austria, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. Dominika's interest in photography began at the age of fifteen. Initially, she shot black-and-white film, specializing in photographing concerts. Her work was featured on local musicians' and mainstream bands' websites. These days, she prefers digital cameras and enjoys taking photos of nature and of the many breathtaking views she encounters during her travels. In addition to her photography, Dominika writes poetry and holds a degree in accounting as well as an MBA. This is her first book.
