Vietnam's Journey towards Higher Education 5.0 is a book about how Vietnam can move from Education 4.0 to a human-centered Education 5.0. Co-edited by Dr Duc Hong Thi Phan and Professor Bruno Mascitelli, with some 25 contributors, the book provides a bridge between learning and mentoring, between Vietnam and the world. The message is clear: technology matters, but people matter more. The chapters explain three connected dimensions- technology & pedagogy, equity & ethics, and innovation & institutional roles. Readers will see Vietnam's opportunities (youthful population, digital readiness, strong policies) and challenges (urban-rural gaps, infrastructure limits, cultural transitions). The book offers practical tools for teachers, policy makers, and university leaders: blended learning, AI and analytics, VR/AR, quality assurance, lifelong learning, and open access. With a global-local lens, this volume places Vietnam in regional and Global South debates. It argues that Higher Education 5.0 is not only efficient and digital, but also inclusive, ethical, and sustainable-so that universities become anchors of equity, creativity, and resilience. Dr. Duc Hong Thi Phan, Founder and President of the Knowledge Bridge Research Institute (KBERI), is Vice President of the InSPiR2eS Network and Vietnam Country Coordinator of the Global Pitching Research Competition. A published RMIT scholar with 15+ years at KPMG, IFC, and NAB, she bridges theory with practice, fostering global collaboration and responsible research. Adjunct Professor Bruno Mascitelli of Swinburne University of Technology in Australia has been active in the field of international business and political economy. He has published some 25 books and has been President of the European Studies Association of Australia. With extensive publications and decades of teaching, he connects academia, policy, and practice, fostering cross-cultural understanding, global engagement and collaborative research networks.
