She holds a bachelor's degree in Communication (Journalism) and a master's and doctorate in Communication and Semiotics from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo. She is the founder and CEO of Forja, a professor affiliated with the JOI research group (Jogos Digitais e Imaginário), and a long-time commentator on games and media in Brazil.She is the author of Videogames e Mitologia, originally published in Portuguese, and co-founder of both the Garotas Geeks project and Bast! Editora. Her research and writing examine how video games reinterpret mythological structures and contribute to contemporary forms of storytelling and cultural meaning. Bridget Benetti is a Canadian translator working from Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese into English.
