Author Information

Helen Wright collected these recipes from her neighbors in 1909, the wives of the English sea captains in New England, most of whom were from the British Isles. Sandra Ericson is the owner of Antiquity Press which specializes in the best of the domestic arts from the past, lest the lessons be lost. She has published many in the sewing and pattern design genre and is now looking at historically significant cooking and drinks books to bring out again.
