Author Information

Alen J Salerian, MD is the former Medical Director of Salerian Center For Neuroscience And Pain. Currently he is the President of Doctors for Equal Rights For Mental And Physical Pain. An internationally recognized thought leader, the sto-ryteller-painter-poet was the former chief psychiatric con-sultant to the FBI's Mobile Psychiatric Emergency Re-sponse Team (MPERT). Dr. Salerian has been a frequent contributor to the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and USA Today. He has appeared on CBS's 60 minutes, CNN's 48 hours, and BBC's Panorama. The son of Kristin Saleri, the internationally known painter, Dr. Salerian first entered the fine arts stage in Washington, DC in 2007 with a blast of color and energy on canvas depicting JFK's extraordinary life. Bobby Muller, recipient of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize, observed, These paintings represent the passion of the artist, his search of history for honesty and integrity and accountability. He is the diagenesis of our time. Norman Mailer said, Here is one psychiatrist with a roaring rage at psychiatric cant, and it comes out in a cat-erwauling fury which clears the air and enlivens one with its daring.
