OverviewCaterina Pigorini Beri (1845-1924) made her debut in the ""Nuova Antologia"" magazine in 1876, with an essay on the folk songs of the Marche region. Her success as a folklorist came with the publication of the diaries of his adventurous journey to Calabria. Caterina was certainly not the first to undertake such a travel, but she was one of the few women to decide to reach a territory many perceived as hostile. The reportage is divided into six chapters: Walks, Among the Albanians, Sila, Witchcraft, Between the Two Seas, From the Ionian to the Tyrrhenian Sea.
