Both the first and last sections are unique to most microbiology book. This second edition has made substantial improvements over the first edition. Regardless of one's approach to teaching of veterinary infectious diseases, this book should be an excellent instructional tool. Although intended for students in veterinary microbiology, it is extremely comprehensive and has sufficient scope and depth to be used by graduate students as well.
