Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationBorn in Maryland and moved to Los Angeles while still an infant, David Pressey is a descendant of American veterans from the French and Indian wars, the Revolutionary War at the battles of Lexington and Concord, the Union Army at Vicksburg, and the Spanish American War. He joined the National Guard at age 17 and served in Korea and Japan. Dave remained in the Guard until 1967. After the Korean War, he went to college and received his masters (magna cum laude) from USC. Throughout a long teaching career he earned additional degrees and credentials. He married his bride Elizabeth at St. James Armenian Apostolic Church in Los Angeles 60 years ago. Elizabeth is a first generation American from the Christian refugees fleeing Islamic massacres in Turkey. He became an Ordained Deacon and later priest in the Anglican Church. Dave often presides over ceremonials and funerals for veterans. He is a charter member of the Ojai, California VFW Post and along with fellow vet Chuck Bennett created the Veterans' Stories Series of books in 2000. He is the sole editor and author of Volume III. Dave and Elizabeth have traveled extensively through Europe, Asia, North Africa and North America. They reside in Ojai, surrounded by their children, grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
