Verill Ansel Swain from Cleveland to Morrilton, Arkansas: From Cleveland to Morrilton, Arkansas

Overview

""Verill Ansel Swain From Cleveland to Morrilton, Arkansas"" is the heartwarming lifelong biographical journey of Ansel Swain with stories covering his life from birth to death. Stories include baseball, labor in the CCC Camps, and service to the US Navy Seabees in WWII. Returning from the Navy, he opened a roller rink and fell in love. Ansel Swain later became County Clerk followed by 31 years of service as Personnel Manager for Crompton-Arkansas Mills, a company employing hundreds of families in the community of Morrilton. Most interesting is the courtship and lifelong marriage of Ansel Swain to Elizabeth Ruth Hamlet Swain. Her record of achievements are most inspirational. Three Appendices are included in this book. The first appendix, ""A Genealogy of the Swain Family: Descendants of Jesse Abner Swain,"" great grandfather, researched by Ansel Swain in 1987, (127 indexed pages) is a five generation family history. The second appendix, ""The Life and Times of John Turner Hamlet, 1900's Atkins, Arkansas Merchant"" (24 pages) records the story of the family of Elizabeth Swain. The third appendix, ""Lucinda Elizabeth Norman and John Mason Liner"" (6 pages) is the story of Ansel Swain's other great grandparents. John Liner lost his life in the Civil War. The adventures in this book are a pleasure to read and a treasure to keep.
