The Ethnic and Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table (EMIERT) is an organization authorized by the Council of the American Library Association with the purpose of providing a forum for the exchange of information on library materials in English and other languages and to promote service for all ethnolinguistic and multicultural communities. Olga Kuharets is the 2001 chair of EMIERT. A key team member in developing the award-winning children's Web sites brarydog.net and BookHive.com, Editor Olga R. Kuharets is Children's Services Manager at the University City Regional Library, a branch of the Pubic Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County in Charlotte, North Carolina. Previously, she served as children's librarian for the New York Public Library. Kuharets received her master's degree in library science from Queens College, New York. Originally from Russia, she emigrated to the U.S. with her parants when she was five years old.
