A highly regarded Indologist, Thibaut was noted for his study of ancient Indian astronomy and mathematics. F. MAX MÜLLER (1823-1900) was a German author and orientalist who lived in England most of his life. As a professor at Oxford, he combined the studies of language, culture, and religion to create the discipline of comparative mythology.
