Author Information

Dr. Bernadette Descharmes works as a research assistant at the historical seminar of the Technical University of Braunschweig. Eric Anton Heuser studied ethnology, sociology and political science in Mainz as well as Asian Studies in Melbourne and London with a focus on international management and economic development. He is doing his doctorate on friendship practices and concepts in Java and Bali. Thomas Loy studied history, theology and French in Freiburg i.Br. and in Paris. After completing his studies, he was a fellow of the DFG Research Training Group for Friends, Patrons and Faithful at the University of Freiburg i.Br., where he received his doctoral thesis in 2010 with his dissertation ""Vera amicitia. On the transformation of pre-Christian friendship concepts at Augustine"".
