Vampirita is back in Vampirita and the Musical Mayhem! Join Vampirita and her friends Molly and August as she continues to adjust to her new life in Sunny City, California, where the sun is bright, the weather is warm, and there's hardly a cloudy day! Perfect conditions for a vampire? Not for Vampirita! Having witnessed a not-so-angry mob welcome Vampirita and her mother to Sunny City, Vampirita attempts to adjust to her new life in her new home. Vampirita continues to adapt to her new surroundings as a vampire far away from her comfortable surroundings in Perú. She tries to find ways to avoid her classmates and make friends, longing to return to her old home, where her abuevampiritos (grandparents) live. Vampirita does not realize, though, that her new surroundings aren't as bad as she thought. Her classmates and neighbors around town are very accepting of Vampirita and want to learn more about her and her family. Mariana Llanos is not a vampire, but just like Vampirita, she's from Lima, Perú. After she moved to Oklahoma in 2002, Mariana began writing in English. Since 2013, she hasn't stopped publishing books in both English and Spanish. Her latest works include Luca's Bridge/El Puente de Luca, Eunice and Kate, and Run Little Chaski! Mariana believes the love for reading is contagious, and she's the co-founder of LatinxPitch, an event that looks to boost the representation of Latino creators in children's literature. Vampirita is Mariana's first chapter book series. Laura Brenlla is an illustrator from Spain. She works all day illustrating children's books and creating animations in her house. In addition, she loves her dog Lena, a good cup of hot chocolate, and visiting ancient palaces with their beautiful gardens.
