He had an earlier industrial career with responsibilities for project management and new business development, and continues to work very closely with industry. He has researched and published in the areas of engineering management, network operations, international manufacturing, technology management and innovation. Mike Gregory is Emeritus Professor of Manufacturing at the University of Cambridge Engineering Department., UK. He chairs the UK Manufacturing Professors Forum, co-chairs the Manufacturing Advisory Group of the UK Government's Department of Business Innovation and Skills (BIS), and is a member of the supervisory board of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult.
