Overview

In a short period of time, Uzbekistan has undergone an important stage of market transformation and achieved enviable success in economic and social development. The theory of market economy and the skilful use of market mechanisms in practice, as exemplified by the prosperous Uzbekistan, have once again confirmed their viability and high efficiency. A state-regulated market economy with a social orientation, based on the principle of strong social protection proclaimed by President I.A. Karimov at the initial stages of economic reform, has been of paramount importance for strengthening the interaction between economic and social factors of development. Just as social problems and problems of improving the living standards of broad sections of the population cannot be solved without appropriate economic growth, so high rates of economic growth can only be achieved through the successful social development of society. The study of such fundamental issues as social economics, social partnership and the like has made it possible to see some problems from a different angle, while creating a basis for studying the complex relationships that arise in state regulation.
