OverviewUser experience and player experience are two concepts that have similarities. Both involve the interaction of a user with a product, with overlapping methods and areas of knowledge that allow experience to be verified. However, there are differences in the focus given to the experience resulting from the interaction. This paper presents the concepts of user experience, usability, player experience and gameplay presented in the literature. It then discusses the relationship between these definitions, identifying the elements that separate them and presenting a possible division between the concepts of user experience and player experience and their tools. Finally, this paper presents two experiments, in two different games, which show a way of verifying player experience, seeking to include these methods within the game development cycle. This work also presents an understanding of player experience in interaction with games and the inclusion of its evaluation within the development cycle, using user testing.
