It seems every time you turn on the news these days there are more and more victims particularly women and young girls of violent crimes and sexual assaults, and perhaps if more women took self-defense training with a certified instructor of a recognized self-defense system or martial arts school. Then there would be for less incidences of assault where the reported victims are women. Women are typically assaulted and/or chosen as the victim of a crime because they are viewed as the -weaker sex- this is by no means true. Although scientifically speaking. It has been proven that there is a 7 to 3 strength ratio difference between men and women. What that means is if you took a man and a woman that were relatively the same fitness level. As far as health, size and weight are concerned, the man is still going to be 2 1/2 times stronger than the women on average. This means that a woman might have to use a little bit more finesse in a self-defense situation and not attack head on and try to match their attacker blow for blow because the objective is not to get into a fight is to stop your assailant create distance between yourself and your attacker and retreat to a safer location where you can report the incident to the proper authorities and receive medical attention if necessary.
