OverviewUrban pest management (IPM) is a broad-based approach that integrates practices for economic control of pests. IPM aims to suppress pest populations below the economic injury level (EIL) in urban areas. Purpose of pest management is to manage pests with the least possible impact on people, property, and the environment and prevent pests from reaching unacceptable levels, or to reduce existing pest populations to acceptable levels. This book builds on the issues of insect pests in urban settings to discuss control strategies that look beyond products. From an environmental and health perspective, it is not always practical to spray chemicals indoors or in urban settings, so this work discusses sustainable control and best practice methods for managing insects that are vectors of disease, nuisance pests and the cause of structural damage.
