When I was in seventh grade, my dream of having a sibling started to become more real. My family and I were in the process of adopting a baby through Bethany Christian Adoption services. After months of waiting and paperwork, we were finally connected with Rachel-a young mother who was having a baby girl. Even with her six-year-old daughter Soline in tow, she chose to give the baby up so that she could have a better life with a complete, stable family-us. It touched my heart so much that this selfless woman decided to provide her child with an opportunity for a prosperous life without her by our side. The decision wasn't easy for either of us, but we all came together knowing it was the best thing for everyone involved.
