Born to a teenage mother who could not care for him, and raised by his great aunt and uncle in inner city Washington, D.C., Clint was irrevocably torn between the strict Christian world of the VanHooks and the often brutal street life that he was forced to face as a child. Never fully belonging to either world, Clintonas life developed patterns of relationship loss, abuse and undisclosed secrets. With his life plagued by relapses, suicide attempts, overdoses, involuntary rehabilitation commitments, hospitalizations for depression, and disillusionment, Clinton found deliverance at the point of surrender. Depending upon the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, Clinton built a new life. In 2000, Clinton was licensed to preach and was ordained into the Gospel ministry in 2001.
