Unwavering: A Border Agent's Journey

Overview

From Homeland Security expert, Jason Piccolo, comes the second edition of his best-selling book Unwavering. With the border of the United States experiencing an unprecedented surge of human and drug traffic flowing north from Mexico, the media continuously called on me to discuss breaking stories. This second edition provides an updated assessment of the U.S. border through my experiences as a Border Patrol Agent and Special Agent as well as my views as a Supervisor in the interior of the United States to working as ICE headquarters' staff in Washington, D.C. Jason's Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF): This book is my view from the ground; from my point of view working the southwest border to the interior of the United States to the Washington, D.C. bureaucracy to input from colleagues with boots on the ground knowledge. This book details my background in the U.S. military and in federal law enforcement. It is a snapshot of my almost twenty years in law enforcement and my years in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Iraq.

Reviews

It's great to get a view of the border and homeland security from someone who actually worked it and keeps politics out of it. Jason does that, and it comes through in every word of this book. -Brian Kilmeade, Host of Fox & Friends and New York Times Best Seller of Andrew Jackson and the Miracle of New Orleans: The Battle That Shaped America's Destiny. Regardless of your feelings on immigration or the wall , every day and night men and women strap on a badge and a gun, leave their families with the real knowledge they may not make it home and head for their assignments to protect our nations borders. They balance the human factors of compassion and empathy for those desperate to cross seeking a better, safer life against the violence and danger of encountering drug runners, gun smugglers, human traffickers and gang members. What many don't understand is that they have the most dangerous and unforgiving job in federal law enforcement... still they go, determined to keep the rest of us safe. Read Unwavering and you will gain a better understanding of their complex battles between good and evil. - Jay Dobyns, No Angel: My Harrowing Undercover Journey to the Inner Circle of the Hells Angels
