Unreasonably Vindictive

Overview

Bertie Halloran, a Hungarian entrepeneur of mixed parentage - Hungarian / Irish -, is sent by parents from Hungary to Ireland to avoid the dangers of WW2. He is an unpleasnt, clever, self-assured individual, spoiled and happy in a prosperous, sophisticated society. He reacts violently aganst the shock of poor, rural Western-Ireland and his Jesuit education yet achieves sparking results that gains him entry to London Univerity and thence a masters in Economics and Business Management. He has a successful career in the city, teaming up with a clever Jewish boss to take over the Merchant Banking House they work in. He suffers a catastropic financia attack by a Mexican fraudster and loses everything - wife, career, property, reputation - meaning he is barred from the city. He is left dealing.., dealing in everything / anything:: drugs, oriental carpets, weapons... eventually becoming rich and important in the seedy, tumultous world of international weapons dealing. He helps Egypt, with their Soviet backers, to ward off israeli counter-attacks in the1973 desert war yet plays both ends against the middle by also helping Mossad defeat the Egyptian attacks. Both sides honour him and he makes substantial profit - sufficient to pursue the enemy of his life and his former wife. He is ""Unreasonably Vindictive"" and goes to exceptional lengths to bring down the fraudster who brought him down many years before. Similalrly he plots a vindictive, humiliating revenge on his former wife - who conspired with the fraudster. - If you like REVENGE - particulalrly Unresonably, Vindictive Revenge - you will enjoy this book.
