Overview

For some three decades of my forty-two-year career in law enforcement, moving in and out of corrections institutions, I studied the behaviors of career criminals. In my final decade, I advised others across the United States about how career criminals think and why crime is their way of life; it follows a pattern that can be learned at an early age within our social structure. On a national level, the career criminal has the greatest derisive impact on the border, on local streets, and on life in jails and prisons. My knowledge of their world evolved over years of dealing with individuals in their environments. Understanding local law enforcement departments' limits was a long and challenging journey.
