Reviews

This book has helped me sell my own hand spun yarns. People are always asking me how to use my yarns and now I have a wonderfully inspirational resource to show them. Thank you Pam and Virginia for providing this book! Holly Partridge I love the way that Virginia and Pam present these materials. Always inspiring and creative even with the simplest of patterns. Everyone will feel encouraged and excited to get started on their own projects. Please keep the ideas flowing Elaine Garvey

Author Information

If you are looking for a lighthearted approach to learning all about fabulous wool fiber from spinning, knit and crochet projects, weaving and more-you have come to the right place! Whether you are an established fiber addict, or you are just starting your journey, we know you will find something to spark your interest and creativity. Shepherds Talk . . . All Things Fiber is a collaboration created by Pam Blasko and Virginia Scholomti. Both are experienced shepherdesses, spinners, knitters, weavers, dyers, fiber artists and enthusiastic teachers. Their inspiration and love of exploring all things fiber is catching. Pamela Blasko lives on a small farm in Oxford CT with her husband Mike, where they raise wool producing animals so that Pam can create fun and whimsical handspun yarns. The fleeces and raw fibers that the animals yield, she processes by hand, including washing, carding and dyeing, to insure that when she spins her yarns she is using only the finest materials. Pam's favorite yarns to spin are art yarns with bold colors that are usually big and bulky, full of character and personality. She translates these fibers into knitted works of art. Pam also fashions felted art work, using both wet and needle felting techniques. In this way she creates one of a kind clothing items, boxes, rugs and framed wall art Virginia and her husband Tom live and work on their farm The Yellowfarm in upstate New York. Their Wensledyale and Teeswater sheep are bred to excel in the show ring with exceptional conformation, and shine in the fiber world with their breathtaking fiber. Collaborating with Pam Blasko in creating Shepherds Talk. . . All Things Fiber provides a venue to create tutorials and instructional videos for other avid spinners and fiber artists. Emphasizing the individual characteristics of natural fibers and working to preserve them in final projects is a passion of hers. Co-Author of their first book, Ideas and Patterns for Art Yarns Virginia loves the creative process and sharing ideas through mixed media.
