Overview

In the dark trunk of a moving car, Sam awakes. She doesn't know how she got there, where she's being taken, or who she even is. The only thing she knows is she has to get away. With a superhuman strength that surprises her, she overpowers her captors and escapes into the nearby woods, taking refuge in a lean-to under cover of night. When morning dawns, she finds she's no longer alone-a rancher has discovered her, and she's trespassing on his property. With nowhere else to turn, she follows him back to his farmhouse, where she's welcomed by his right-hand man, Mack, and his housekeeper, Miss Claire. As Staz and his crew work to help Sam uncover her identity, she begins to understand that she wields powers no human being, let alone a teenage girl, should have. Then they uncover links to GNT, a shady, billion-dollar bioengineering company. All the while, Sam grows closer to the handsome, mysterious Staz, who may be hiding secrets of his own. But the more Sam learns, the more the truth eludes her.

K.J. Herridge first began reading as a small child, each book a marvel.. In it's pages, she could become lost in whatever fantasy and fiction she was reading. As she grew older, no book was restricted from her fascination, sometimes even to the exclusion of forfeiting her chores and allowance over her current book. From fantasy and romance to science fiction and horror, eventually progressing to historical, autobiographical and, as she entered her career in the health care field, the world of space and science. After over three decades in the health care field, she hung up her license to take up writing. A lifelong reader, self ascribed science and space nerd, avid gardener, and devoted dog lover, she dedicates a portion of every day to her research and writing (weekends are her only exception). An avid traveler, she has been lucky enough to travel the globe, from Africa to Amsterdam, France and England to Hawaii, across Canada and many of the USA states, where she has been able to glean insights from the cultures and landscapes she found herself in, deriving story lines as she did. Now married, she lives in southern Ontario with her husband, rescued Thai survivor dog and huge evolving garden.
