Overview

The University of M laga (Universidad de M laga), founded in 1972 is situated in the city of M laga on the south coast of Spain. University of M laga counts almost 40,000 students and 2,000 researchers.The history of the University of M laga begins in 1968 with the creation of the Association of Friends of the University of M laga (Asociaci n de Amigos de la Universidad de M laga). This association sought the creation of the university because of the needs of the city (it was the only city with a population over 300,000 that lacked it.) The University of M laga was founded by decree of August 18, 1972 by grouping existing centers in the late '60s: the School of Surveyors (the former name of technical engineers), Normal School, the Faculty of Economics and the Seminar.
