Author InformationFloyd Brown holds a Ph. D. degree in Psychology. He completed graduate training in clinical psychology at Ohio State University and Baylor Medical School. He completed training in organizational psychology at the University of Washington, where he also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Dr. Brown has over 25 years of experience in planning and providing clinical services for adults, children and families. He also has several years of experience in assisting law enforcement responses in crisis situations, work for which he received three public service commendations. Dr. Brown has been Clinical Director of one Mental Health Center, Executive Director of another and Director of Operations of a Policy Center at the University of Washington. Dr. Brown has over 20 years of experience in providing consultation and training to for-profit, non-profit, community and government organizations. The focus of that activity has included the enhancement of organizational design, leadership, decision-making, performance evaluation and sustainability. Dr. Brown has over 10 years of experience teaching at the college level. He has also maintained an active, life-long interest in astronomy, cosmology and theoretical physics. Dr. Brown lives on the Olympic Peninsula in the State of Washington. His recreational interests include bicycling, hiking, camping, back-packing and, in general, exploring new places.
