OverviewThe perception at the heart of this work is simple. Generally, we associate the term 'evolution' with life, but actually, evolution is a principle of organisation that underlies everything that exists, from the smallest sub-atomic particles to the most complex life forms - up to and including, our personal experience of existence. The Western approach to evolution theory focuses largely on investigation of the mechanics of the processes involved, while Eastern traditions have always been more concerned with developments in terms of the expression of 'essential being', or 'spirit' rather than purely physical considerations. This book seeks to draw insight from each of these perspectives to present a view of evolution that reflects them in a way that is consistent and complementary. It's not about 'belief' however, in the shape of either scientific theory or religion, but about exploring evidence - and the way we interpret it, with a reasonably open mind. It concludes with a consideration of the role human behaviour has in shaping the future. This book is really just a long essay about evolution, in which the author discusses some ideas and perceptions around the subject. Some of these are already well known, some are his own, gathered over many years. Generally, people tend to think of evolution as an obscure and highly specialist subject best left to experts to consider and figure out. The author used to feel that way himself, but now has a very different, profoundly interested but relaxed attitude towards it. Evolution is about you and me, it's about the world we inhabit and belong to. It's not just a specialist's subject. It's for anyone and everyone to consider (or not if they prefer) and add to the sense of being part of a greater whole. Table of ContentsReviewsLoveReading 'Indie books we love' recommended...The scale of the arguments within this book is unique, looking from the basics of biological evolution, expanding out to what evolution looks like in the modern day and how our awareness and identity can impact evolution going forward... A thought provoking piece for those with a keen interest in expanding their horizons through processes around evolution.' LoveReading Ambassador The book, Universal Evolution, contains a thoughtful philosophical approach to the origins of matter, life and consciousness. With care, the author leads the reader from subatomic domains to those of higher complexity thereby offering a top-down thesis by which he explains the similarity in the evolutionary processes leading to the atom, the molecule, organisms and finally the Self. Ultimately, he describes Self-realisation as an integral feature of human evolution.Daniel Fels PhD (Evolutionary Biologist and Specialist in Electromagnetic Cell Communication)This is an amazing piece of work that takes on some of the most profound questions on a range of matters and explains them in a way that those who are not familiar with some of the subjects involved can follow and think about deeply. The author has taken great attention to explain some profound questions in a manner approachable for those who get bamboozled with scientific theory etc. It still has plenty that may bamboozle, but it opens up plenty fresh insights, and raises as many questions as answers for a reader like me. It's a real page turner for those who are interested in this type of subject.John Lehmann Author InformationTab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
