Overview

The second in a series of books exploring shipwrecks, ditched aircraft and other maritime incidents in, around and off the Northumberland Coastline. Despite being 'bite-sized', the book contains details on over 170 separate incidents, with added relevant information to aid historical, family and diving research. The most comprehensive guide of shipwrecks & maritime incidents to date from Cheswick to Ross including the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, it's a bargain not to be missed.

Author Information

Barry Gardner lives in the beautiful village of North Sunderland (Seahouses), gateway to the Farne Islands with his wife, three children and two dogs. He has spent the majority of his adult life in the Royal Navy, amongst other things surveying the seabed around the United Kingdom, Europe and the Middle East. His interest in Shipwrecks comes as a combination of his home & work life, as the stunning Northumberland coastline is home to several hundred known shipwrecks with more being found each year. Initially he began his research as an idea to pass spare time whilst serving away, but quickly realised just how many wrecks, shipping and aircraft incidents were not included in any other wreck book and so began to write them down. Still in the R.N. he currently works for the Queen's Harbour Master.
