Weems in his pursuit to determine the variance between those pastoring white congregations in comparison to African American congregations. There are recommendations given as to how an African American pastor of a small church can minister effectively and efficiently in respect to the unique challenges he or she may encounter.

Dr. Terry L. Weems, a native of Laurel, MS, is a graduate of Christian Life School of Theology (Doctor of Ministry) and Beacon University (Doctor of Ministry). He is Senior Pastor of New Life Fellowship Churches, with locations in Columbia (1988), McComb (1997), and Silver Creek (2004), MS. He is Chancellor and an instructor of the New Life Fellowship School of Ministry and also serves as Overseer of the A.C.T.S. Fellowship of Pastors and Ministry Leaders, which he founded.
