Overview"A word of caution. This commentary isn't for those with fixed opinions of statements, claims, and admonitions contained in the Quran.. This book is a ""common sense"" survey and is not intended to strengthen or lessen one's preconceived notion of Islam. This commentary deals with the claims, admonitions, scientific errors, conflations, and absurdities found in the Islamic holy book. Various Surahs and Ayahs (chapters and verses) are quoted and then examined for clarity of thought, divine inspiration, and revelation. Anyone who is interested in what the Qur'an actually states and how its words guide the one and one-half billion Muslims around the world should take the time to read this offering. As one reads the Quran, it becomes immediately obvious that the book is, in the main, a plagiarism of the first five books of the Old Testament with and abundance of alterations. The Quran constantly claims ""revelations,"" in reality, anything new is rarely found. There are ""twists"" on previous Old and New Testament stories, but nothing born of new cloth. Islam is as much a social order as a religion, and without understanding of the implications of this belief system one cannot possibly understand the intentions and goals of Islam." Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationBill Shuey is a born and bred Missourian (the Show-Me state), and his search for truth in his books is readily apparent. Shuey left Missouri in 1961 and spent the next 20 years in the United States Air Force, followed by a position as a nuclear quality control supervisor on nuclear power plant construction and reclamation. He then opened a cabinetry and furniture manufacturing business in North Florida, building custom cabinets and furniture. He then closed that business and built a self-storage facility on the property. This gives him time to be involved in the tomato packing business as a grading supervisor, as well as balancing the books for his own business and for other businesses. Shuey started writing his ObverseView column thirteen years ago. He also writes a weekly article on Facebook and Yahoo Groups as well as submissions to other publications. He began his career in books with his first effort, A Search for Israel. Shuey felt compelled to set the record straight regarding the confusion that most people have about the identities of ancient and modern Israel. A Search for Logic in the Qur'an is Shuey's fifth literary work and completes the Search for Logic trilogy: Unholy Dilemma - A Search for Logic in the Old Testament, Unholy Dilemma 2 - A Search for Logic in the New Testament, and Unholy Dilemma 3 - A Search for Logic in the Qur'an. Bill Shuey is in the process of selling his home in the mountains of North Carolina, and plans to travel around the United States full-time with his wife, Gloria and their German shepherd, Tibbs, in their 5th wheel recreational vehicle and hopefully do some book discussions and signings while on the road.
