He graduated from Renmin University of China with a postgraduate degree and holds a doctorate in law. Currently a professor, Xie is a member of the 20th Central Committee, serves as the Deputy Director of the Party School of the Central Committee of CPC (National Academy School of Governance), and is President of the Modern History Society of China.
